Today's fabrics

This is better than dyeing Easter eggs.

We went to a fancy dinner tonight and guess what I was looking at. Men's shirts. At one point I leaned over and whispered to Ray, "I want that man's shirt." and I subtly nodded my head toward an elegant pale green and tan striped shirt. Ray looked quite surprised and puzzled, then he got it. "Oh yeah," he said. "The shirt. Nice. Want me to make him an offer?"  Nah. That would be rude. And possibly misunderstood.

  1. funny! Are you basically dyeing a range of colours? or are you dyeing a specific pallet(sp) of colours because you know you work with them the most?

  2. "what was once a hobby has become a vice"

we will only worry when you start running men down and snatching the shirts off their back.

  6. Sandy, I am dyeing these to mainly get a range of color and value, but I keep laying them all out together and deciding what is needed and I am heavily influenced by what I like together. And yes, all Rit dye. I am mixing color from a limited few colors: red, yellow, blue, brown and black.

  7. ha ha ha! There was an episode of Project Runway where the contestants had to create new fashion from the clothes that they took off people in the street. Very funny watching them come up to people and ask them for a shirt off their back! Maybe you should come up with a line that cannot be refused...

  10. I was coveting a fellow quilter's skirt today and wondering if she'd notice if I snuck up behind her and chopped out a piece. I think she'd understand if I made her an offer for it, but it was so gorgeous her price would be too high, I'm sure!
